Field Data Collection

Field Data Collection

It is virtually impossible to directly quantify any cost reduction, cycle time or performance improvement achieved by an existing or newly procured service or system without a baseline study. RTR has in depth experience in performing benchmark studies for measurement of existing and future operations to assess improvement or process changes. Baseline studies are accomplished by collecting specific field data, as defined by the client and in conjunction with RTR’s industry knowledge and proprietary methodologies. Field data collection serves as the foundation for sizing the effort essential to understanding and assessing the current environment and/or redesign the future environment as required by stakeholders and clients.

The benefits of field data collection are:

  • Existing services and specific processes are identified and documented.
  • Establishing a baseline or benchmark system enables an enterprise to achieve cost savings or reductions in their operations.
  • Responsibility and accountability for the implementation of process changes are established.
  • Opportunities for improvement (e.g. horizontal services, enabling technologies, cross-departmental or geographical efficiencies, tactical strategies etc.) are realized.
